A raised access floor provides an elevated structural floor creating a void for the passage of mechanical and electrical services.
They are widely used in modern office buildings and in specialised areas such as data centres and computer rooms where there is a requirement to route mechanical services, data cabling and electrical supply. Raised floors also provide underfloor air distribution through a controlled manner.
Partial access floors (Knauf GIFAfloor) can also create floor voids; its’ interlocking tongue and grooved products offers single and double layer systems ideal for stone floor finishes without the need for an additional de-bonding layer.
